Frequently used group types

1 Min. lesen

Group types can be used in different ways. Sometimes it even makes sense to introduce a new group type in order to structure the permissions more clearly or to introduce clarity in the terminology.

The following table shows you possible group types that are frequently used.

Group typeAlternative namesDescription
Small groupHouse groupYou can use the ‘small group’ group type to organise smaller, informal groups within a congregation. These can be home groups, Bible study groups or prayer groups, for example. The aim of such groups is to promote fellowship and strengthen the personal faith of the participants.
ServiceTeamsThe ‘Service’ group type is intended for the organisation of voluntary activities and services within the congregation. This includes, for example, music, technology, childcare or the welcoming team. The members of these groups work together to support and organise the congregation services and events.
CharacteristicInterestsThe group type ‘characteristic’ is used to classify people within the community based on certain attributes or interests. Examples of characteristic groups are age groups, musical preferences or language skills. These groups help to get to know the members of the congregation better and to create targeted offers for specific groups.
ActionsMeasures‘Actions’ is a group type that you can use for projects or activities within the congregation. Such projects can be both short and long-term, such as a fundraising campaign, a congregation outing or a social project in the neighbourhood.
KeysKey managementHere you use one group per key type to list the people who are in possession of such a key.
