ChurchTools provides you with three different categories of calendars, which can be used to clearly break down and structure everyday church life. You can subscribe to every calendar that is visible to you via iCal and every calendar can be fed with appointments from an iCal source.
Congregation calendar #
Congregation calendars are for all Dates that affect the whole congregation. In this category, for example, you can create a calendar for church services, one for youth events and one for other church events such as prayer evenings, camps, etc.
Group calendar #
Group calendars are ideal for organize roles or small groups. By default, they are visible to the group to which they were linked when the calendar was created. In addition to the functions of the congregation calendar, you can also create meeting requests for appointments in a group calendar to plan the next meeting.
If you submit a meeting request, the requested users are informed by e-mail and can accept or reject the requests in ChurchTools. This way you can clarify in advance whether an appointment is suitable for everyone or not and can postpone it if necessary.
Personal calendars #
Your personal calendars are the place where, by default, your Roles, your absences, birthdays, and absences of members of your groups are displayed by default. These four calendars are only visible to you and cannot be shared with others.
You can also create your own personal calendars, which can be shared with other users like groups and congregation calendars and are also integrated into the rights management. Sign up groups and resource bookings can be created for personal calendars. Events and meeting requests are not possible.
