What is LDAP? #
LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.
It can be used to use one Login for many systems so that users do not need a separate Login for each system.
Using the ChurchTools Login #
If the ChurchTools system Login is to be used for other systems, there are two options:
- The LDAP service runs with ChurchTools. You can transaction this service directly via your license and then contact our support team to set it up.
- Install the LDAP server yourself. Michael Lux has created the so-called LDAP wrapper, which anyone can install themselves. Information on this can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/milux/ctldap
If the user who wants to log in to another system with their ChurchTools credentials has two-factor authentication enabled in ChurchTools, the OTP token must be appended to the password. For more details, see LDAP with two-factor authentication.
Examples of use #
