What is LDAP? #

LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.

It can be used to use one Login for many systems so that users do not need a separate Login for each system.

Using the ChurchTools Login #

If the ChurchTools system Login is to be used for other systems, there are two options:

  1. The LDAP service runs with ChurchTools. You can transaction this service directly via your license and then contact our support team to set it up.
  2. Install the LDAP server yourself. Michael Lux has created the so-called LDAP wrapper, which anyone can install themselves. Information on this can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/milux/ctldap

If the user who wants to log in to another system with their ChurchTools credentials has two-factor authentication enabled in ChurchTools, the OTP token must be appended to the password. For more details, see LDAP with two-factor authentication.
