If you want to update the domain name for your ChurchTools account—for example, if your church’s name has changed—there are a few things to keep in mind. We’ve compiled a list of them for you here.
LDAP #
If you change the domain and are still using LDAP, we’ll need to check and update that on our end. Please let us know if that’s the case.
OAuth #
You should check the URLs here if third-party systems are used.
ChurchTools App and Chats #
The app, including all your chats, will be transferred automatically. You don’t need to do anything here.
Groups and Registration Links #
Registration links—including those via QR codes, such as on flyers—must be updated if you’ve used these links anywhere. If you use the ChurchTools Website, all groups and registrations are automatically synchronized.
Wiki #
Here, you need to check whether absolute links using the old domain were used.
AVV #
The AVV does not need to be adjusted.
Customize the ChurchTools Website Domain #
If you’d also like to change the domain for your ChurchTools Website, simply update your domain’s DNS settings accordingly, then enter the new domain yourself in your website’s settings at any time and activate the domain. We don’t need to make any changes on our end. The web pages you’ve already created will remain intact.
