If you want to contact several people, you can not only do this by e-mail or chat, but you also have the option of sending serial letters, e.g. thank you letters to all donors in your congregation.
You can use placeholders in the form letters to personalize the texts of your letters quickly and easily.
You can use the placeholders both in the (HTML) templates of the form letters and in the text of the form letter itself.
You can find out which placeholders you can currently use in form letters here.
Use placeholders in templates #
You simply enter the placeholders in the (HTML) templates of your form letters. For example, if you want to enter the postal address of your addressees in a template, you would use the following placeholders:
- {{person.firstName}} {{person.lastName}}
- {{person.street}}
- {{person.zip}} {{person.city}}
Use placeholders in the letter text #
When creating a form letter, you can either enter the desired placeholders yourself in the text field or you can use the selection fields for the placeholders that we have built directly into the user interface.

All available placeholders are displayed here and you can select them with one click.
There are placeholders for all personal data fields (including those that you have created yourself), for group information fields and for relationship fields.
Placeholders are highlighted in blue in the text (1) and a control overview (3) is displayed at the bottom of the text field, which informs you whether the information required for the placeholders is stored for all recipients.
- Green: All information is available.
- Yellow: The information is missing for at least one of the recipients or you do not have permission to see the corresponding information.
You can display the syntax of the placeholder (2) by moving the mouse over the placeholder.
