With ChurchTools Website, you no longer have to worry about whether the dates for upcoming services are entered on your church website or whether the new small groups have already been entered. You can automatically import all this (and more) from ChurchTools into your website and have it displayed. The data from ChurchTools is automatically updated every 30 minutes. We also offer you the option of triggering the data import manually if you wish. You can find out how to do both in our instructions for importing data.

In this article, we will give you an overview of the options for automatically displaying data from ChurchTools on your website.

Posts #

Posts can be imported from ChurchTools and can be displayed by you on overview pages of the ChurchTools website. You use tags to make your selection and set filter options for visitors to your website.

Posts on your ChurchTools website work in a similar way to posts on a social network: you can use them to automatically display news from your congregation on your website. You can find out how to share posts for your website here.

Appointments, Persons and Groups #

Appointments, persons and groups can also be imported from ChurchTools to your ChurchTools website and are used to display important information that already exists in your ChurchTools on the website. If something changes in ChurchTools, it is automatically updated on your website.

Imported appointments are automatically provided with tags that correspond to the calendar name under which they are created in ChurchTools. If a calendar is assigned to a campus in ChurchTools, this is also transferred to the calendar name on the website.

People and groups are also automatically provided with tags transferred from ChurchTools, which you can use for selection and filters.

You can find out how to release this content for your website here.

Registration for public groups #

If you offer information about public groups in your congregation on your ChurchTools website, it makes sense to also allow people to register for these groups directly. This makes it easier for people to join and come to you.

In our article on website registrations, you can find out how easy it is with ChurchTools and ChurchTools Website.

API #

ChurchTools offers over 200 API endpoints that software developers can use to program additional functions according to individual requirements. Use of the API is free of charge. In the forum, already programmed connections are made available or further ideas are discussed.
