In order for you to store personal data in ChurchTools in accordance with data protection law, it is necessary that the persons whose data you wish to store have consented to the data storage.
In principle, you can use the texts we suggest, but you should adapt them to the exact conditions regarding storage and data processing in your congregation. It is particularly important that your text contains information about the storage location and the purpose of data storage. You can find out how to adapt the texts in this article.
Call up settings for the declaration of consent #
To edit the declaration of consent, use the tool icon(1) in the blue menu bar to call up the System settings (2) and there the settings for data protection/security (3) and navigate to the declaration of consent (4).

Define behavior when creating new persons #
First, use the two switches to specify whether or not the information on the declaration of consent should be mandatory fields when creating persons manually and/or when creating persons via the API.

Consent by user #
In the lower area, use the pencil symbols to adjust the texts for your own consent and also the consent for your own children.
If you would like to (re)obtain consent from users who have already been created, you can activate a banner via the button that prompts them to confirm the declaration.
