You can find out exactly how this works <a href=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/churchtools-modules\/transactions\/19-how-to-import-transactions\/#1-toc-title\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the overview you will find all accounts for which you have already imported a bank statement.<br>You are shown how many transactions are included, whether they have already been entered, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accounts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each account for which you have already imported a bank statement is shown in the menu on the left.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you select an account, you will find all the related bank statements and you can select them directly in order to edit the transactions contained, to enter them or to delete the bank statement via the three-dot menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"940\" height=\"306\" src=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-367.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-367.png 940w, https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-367-300x98.png 300w, https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-367-768x250.png 768w, https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-367-360x117.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rule-based suggestions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The import of bank statements works best when ChurchTools knows which transactions should be assigned to which accounts and cost center and what the description text should be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only then will ChurchTools really do the work for you and save you valuable time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ChurchTools learns with every imported bank statement and every transaction entered. However, you can also teach ChurchTools from the get go which transactions are to be entered in what way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, you create rules according to which ChurchTools will generate the suggestions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-366.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-366.png 640w, https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-366-300x222.png 300w, https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/image-366-360x266.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First you select whether the rule should apply to <em><strong>revenues<\/strong><\/em> or <em><strong>expenditures<\/strong><\/em> (1).<br>Then you define the <em><strong>reason for payment<\/strong><\/em> (2) that is to be searched for. The variables <em><strong>contains<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>equals<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Regex<\/strong><\/em> are available for this purpose. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Regex<\/strong> (= <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Regular_expression\">Regular Expression<\/a>)<br>Regex can recognise patterns and search specifically for those.
