Define a donation account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to the <em><strong>Master data<\/strong><\/em> (2) in the <em><strong>Finance module<\/strong><\/em> (1), select <em><strong>Accounts<\/strong><\/em> (3) and open the <em><strong>edit menu<\/strong><\/em> (4) of the account you want to define as a donation account. There you <em><strong>define it as such<\/strong><\/em> (5) and <em><strong>save<\/strong><\/em> (6) your change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can create a completely <a href=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/churchtools-modules\/master-data-finance\/19-how-to-set-up-an-account-chart\/#2-toc-title\">new account<\/a> and define it as a donation account. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-group ct-box ct-box-blue has-background is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-002f1c27 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-radius:8px;border-left-color:#3e70ce;border-left-width:0.5rem;background-color:#f3f5f7;margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">\n<p style=\"margin-top:0.5rem;margin-right:0.5rem;margin-bottom:0rem;margin-left:0.5rem\"><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:0rem;margin-right:0.5rem;margin-bottom:0.5rem;margin-left:0.5rem\">If you define an account as a donation account, you must select a person as donor for each transaction to this account. Then the field <em><strong>Donor<\/strong><\/em> (6) appears in which you can search for the name of the person who has donated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the donation should or must be assigned to a specific purpose, you can select a <em><strong>Cost center<\/strong><\/em> for it, provided you have previously created a corresponding cost center in the <em><strong>Master data<\/strong><\/em>. You can find out how to create cost centers <a href=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/churchtools-modules\/master-data-finance\/19-how-to-add-cost-centers\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"9411\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the two <em><strong>sliders<\/strong><\/em> (7) and (8) you can set whether the donation comes from a married couple and whether the donors waive the reimbursement of their expenses or not. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Couples donating<\/strong><br>This function is only available if a spouse is entered for the donor in the Persons and Groups module.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Waiver of reimbursement of expenses<\/strong><br>You can use this function if a person has incurred expenses for your church and waives the right to be reimbursed for them. The expenses can then be counted as a donation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>After you have entered the <em>Amount<\/em> (9), the <em>Transaction text<\/em> (10) is still missing, which is pre-filled with <em>Donation<\/em> by default to save you time.
