You can use it to write, structure, and format text. For example, you can insert headings, lists, links, tables, images, and mentions. It uses the Markdown syntax.

Note

The term “Markdown” refers to a simple notation for formatting. You can select different formatting options not only from a menu, but also by typing specific character combinations directly into your text. For example, “1.” to start a new numbered list.
Of course, you can also use the editor without knowing these notations. You don’t need any Markdown knowledge to do so.

What features does the editor offer?

Depending on where you are in ChurchTools—whether on the web or in the app—the editor offers a customized set of features. For example, when creating posts, you have three heading levels available, while on wiki pages you can use six heading levels.

You can access many features directly using the buttons in the editor or by typing the forward slash “/”. If you’d like, you can also switch to source mode and use Markdown syntax there.
