{"id":70565,"date":"2025-04-14T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/help\/non-knowledgebase\/uncategorized\/how-do-i-use-split-entries\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T13:18:23","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T12:18:23","password":"","slug":"how-to-use-split-entries","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/churchtools-modules\/transactions\/how-to-use-split-entries\/","title":{"rendered":"How to use split entries?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Split entries allow you to split the total amounts of individual transactions and assign the individual amounts to different accounts and cost centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example, you can allocate rental income to different accounts, break down individual items into reimbursements paid out, or assign a person&#8217;s donation to different projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This feature is included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/churchtools-modules\/transactions\/how-to-enter-transactions-using-the-expert-view\/\" id=\"7185\">advanced posting view<\/a> of the Financials module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-group ct-box ct-box-blue has-background is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-1ccdadb1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-radius:8px;border-left-color:#3e70ce;border-left-width:0.5rem;background-color:#f3f5f7;margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--60)\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0.5rem;margin-right:0.5rem;margin-bottom:0rem;margin-left:0.5rem\"><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"margin-top:0rem;margin-right:0.5rem;margin-bottom:0.5rem;margin-left:0.5rem\">Currently, you cannot create split entries in imported bank statements. To do this, you must first save a &#8220;simple booking,&#8221; which you can then split in the &#8220;Bookings&#8221; section of the advanced booking view. <\/p>\n<\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To split a booking or transaction, follow these steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Fill out the partial entries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next, you can enter the information for your partial entries.<br>The individual amounts of the partial entries are <em>automatically added together<\/em> (1), so you can see right away whether your partial entries match the total amount entered above or how much is still remaining.
