{"id":47210,"date":"2025-12-12T08:44:08","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T07:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/help\/non-knowledgebase\/uncategorized\/overview-ldap\/"},"modified":"2026-03-17T10:29:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T09:29:56","password":"","slug":"overview-ldap","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/en\/help\/system-settings\/ldap-login-systemsettings\/overview-ldap\/","title":{"rendered":"Overview LDAP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is LDAP?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>LDAP stands for Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be used to use one Login for many systems so that users do not need a separate Login for each system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the ChurchTools Login<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the ChurchTools system Login is to be used for other systems, there are two options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/churchtools.academy\/help\/verwaltung\/ldap\/0-ldap-service\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"7397\">LDAP service<\/a> runs with ChurchTools. You can transaction this service directly via your license and then contact our support team to set it up. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install the LDAP server yourself. Michael Lux has created the so-called LDAP wrapper, which anyone can install themselves. Information on this can be found on GitHub: <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/milux\/ctldap\">https:\/\/github.com\/milux\/ctldap<\/a>  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If the user who wants to log in to another system with their ChurchTools credentials has two-factor authentication enabled in ChurchTools, the OTP token must be appended to the password.
