There are various ways in which you can use the information from ChurchTools and link it to your heating control system to heat your rooms as efficiently as possible and at the right times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 1: iCal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first option is very simple: If your external system allows you to subscribe to iCal links, you can subscribe to the resources from ChurchTools in iCal format. To do this, move your mouse over the field with the resource name and then click on the small calendar that appears: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can then use the link you receive as a source in your external system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 2: IP-Symcon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our developers have developed a community plugin for the IP-Symcon<\/a> software. If you are using this, you can use the plugin to control your heating system. You can find more information on this in our blog<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Option 3: API<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, you can also read out the information relevant to you or your heating control system via the ChurchTools API and enter it into your system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, you need your API user’s Login token, which you can create as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Create a new person in ChurchTools; mandatory fields: Last name, e-mail or user name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Set a password for this new user by searching for them in the list of people, clicking on the pencil next to “Permissions” in the user’s person details and then clicking on “Change password”.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Give this newly created user the required permissions for the Resources module (possibly also for the Calendar module) as well as “view” permissions for the People and Groups modules and the global permission “View own data up to security level > 1”.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Log in to ChurchTools with the new user, navigate to the person list, open the person details and click on the pencil next to “Permissions” and then on “Login token”. You can now read out the Login token for your API user and use it for your programming. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
