In this article you will find our recommendation for the authorization of the small groups. Depending on your church structure, you may want to add to or reduce this for you.
Since you probably want all your small group leaders and members to have the same permissions, regardless of which small group they belong to, we recommend that you assign the permissions using the group type small group. This way you define basic permissions for all groups of this type. If a small group should then, for example, also take on diaconal tasks, the permissions required can then be given directly to this group.
Basically, we recommend that the members of a small group can see who is part of the small group and what dates are coming up, e.g. when and where the group meets regularly. If your church uses the ChurchTools App, it can also be useful to share the chat function with the small groups, so that the small groups can easily exchange information outside of their meetings.
For small group leaders, we also recommend enabling the follow-up-feature to help them manage the group and care for its members. If you make a meeting space available to the small groups in your church, it also makes sense to give small group leaders access to resource bookings, i.e. to avoid double bookings.
