ChurchTools offers you the option of using HTML templates for serial letters and donation receipts so that you can quickly and easily reach multiple recipients or create documents.
You can either use the templates already available in ChurchTools, use your own templates or customise the templates provided for you.
To check whether your HTML templates work in ChurchTools, you can go through the following steps:
1. Visual check #
Upload your template to ChurchTools and do a visual check, e.g. by sending a test e-mail with the template or displaying a preview of a donation receipt. This allows you to see directly whether your template works as desired.
2. Check placeholders #
If you notice that certain placeholders are not being filled in, you can check here whether you have used the correct placeholders for the desired function.
3. Markup validation #
It can also be helpful to check whether your HTML template is written correctly in regard to the correct use of terms and syntax of the programming language.
You can test this with an online validation tool, such as the World Wide Web Consortium‘s Markup Validator.
