• REST-Api
  • In the future, login tokens will no longer create a session when making REST API calls. This new behavior can already be enabled in the system settings to test connected API clients for compatibility. Clients can continue to use a session by including the query parameter “with_session=true” when logging in.

Improvements

• General
  • The new visual Markdown editor and renderer allows you to format and reference content in ChurchTools
    • Text can be formatted as bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, or with links
    • Headings, lists, numbering, tables, quotes, code blocks, divider lines, links, and images can be inserted (the latter only in the wiki)
    • People, groups, wiki pages, and songs can be referenced and displayed in different sizes
  • The admin welcome dialog has been updated and now offers direct access to ChurchTools setup.
  • Status cards—such as those in the group settings for registration—now better adjust button sizes and line breaks to fit the available width.

  • Posts and comments now use the new Markdown editor and renderer.
• Wiki
  • Markdown pages now use the new Markdown editor and renderer.
  • The wiki now features a new “All Pages” homepage with a free-text search, multi-category filter, and three views (list, table, gallery).
  • The wiki search now displays results from Markdown pages as a snippet surrounding the search term.
• Persons
  • There is a new permission to view all people at a location. This permission is now taken into account in all relevant areas of user visibility.
  Groups
  • For group chats, you can now configure whether new group members can view the existing chat history; however, they can only view the history up to the time they join the group.
  • On group detail pages, the Members widget now displays the average age of the group members.
  • Options for group member fields of the “Single-select,” “Either/Or Selection,” or “Multiple Selection” can now be edited.
  • Attachments can now be included in routine emails.
  • In routine emails, group member emails, and mail merges, the check-in code can now be inserted as a placeholder in the text and sent. 
  • The delay setting in routines now also allows for specifying months and years (for longer time periods).
  • Large tables with many rows and columns are now displayed more efficiently.
  • People who unsubscribe via the newsletter provider are now also marked as unsubscribed in the group.
  • When creating a role, the length of the name and the abbreviation is now validated.
  • Changes to group memberships are immediately synced with integrated newsletter tools.
  • For follow-ups, you can now (again) configure per group whether a reminder should be sent for due follow-ups.
  • Group homepages with many groups load significantly faster.
• Events
  • The duration of a sequence item is updated when a song is assigned to the item.
• Finance
  • The “Show entries without a budget” toggle on the Budget page is now saved in the user settings.
• REST-API
  • The default value of a group member field is now also validated and normalized.Groups can be filtered via the REST API based on whether their chat is active.
  • OAuth applications can use the ChurchTools API—with explicit authorization—within the scope of the logged-in user’s permissions.
  • The History API now supports filters by time period, actor, and source.
  • Comment visibility settings can now be managed and sorted via the REST API.

Fixed Bugs

• General
  • The log view now returns to the first page when search filters are changed.
  • The validation of the Evangelical Calendar settings has been made more secure.
  • When logging in via an external login provider, ChurchTools two-factor authentication is no longer additionally enforced
  • After a password change, existing sessions are reliably terminated again.
  • Descriptions in selection fields are now displayed securely.
  • For hidden groups, editing functions for group memberships are now only displayed to users with the appropriate permissions.
  • Wiki pages are now only displayed in the quick search if at least one wiki category is visible.
  • The NPS survey is displayed to new users no earlier than three months after their first login.
• Persons
  • Personal data that has already been archived can now be exported again.
  • Date filters are applied correctly the first time you switch to the personal data archive.
• Groups
  • Deleting all selected groups in the table view no longer causes a freeze and now correctly displays the progress.
  • Yes/No fields in group membership fields can be sorted again
  • Automations in groups are now only displayed if the necessary permissions are in place
  • When editing or resetting group memberships via routines, the required permissions are now checked correctly
  • Full groups with a waiting list enabled can be selected again when adding a group membership

  • iCal sources now block internal and reserved network addresses to prevent server-side requests to internal services

  • In the calendar, the title supplement provided by services is now also displayed in the detail view.
  • Service texts in the mini-calendar view are now also assigned a separate CSS class
  • For events, a one-day grace period for resource bookings is now correctly maintained.
  • People who have already been invited remain visible in meeting requests even if they are no longer members of the authorized group.

  • When creating a wiki page with a title that already exists, the error message is now displayed directly in the title field
• Finance
  • The “Account/Counteraccount” column is displayed in the CSV/Excel export of the account statement report.
  • All entries for a given fiscal year can be completely deleted, even if tax entries are present.
• REST-API
  • Login strings can now only be generated via the REST API for oneself.
  • Sorting parameters for the Groups API are now validated more strictly.
  • The Calendar API once again returns the requested date when retrieving individual all-day events.
• System-Settings
  • The connection to CleverReach can now be successfully established again.
  • CSRF protection is now always active and can no longer be accidentally disabled.
  • The text for the privacy consent notice can now be edited again.
